Essential life skills
Encourage your child to develop Essential Life Skills.
If you are parenting an ADHD child, or a complex child, you may find it difficult to impart life skills that seem to come naturally to other children. Kids, teenagers and adults with ADHD tend to take longer to organize, prioritize, self-regulate and plan. However, home is the place where life begins, so let’s start learning and teaching our kids about executive-function skills and wholesomeness in mind and body for a calmer, happier, family life.
Essential Life Skills your ADHD child can master:
- Help develop the creativity, ingenuity and intelligence that ADHD children are known to possess. Neuro-diverse children are often gifted or multi-tasking and can easily get bored and this puts them at risk. Let’s give them what to be proud of and motivate them unto greatness.
- No Blame: Learn how to give constructive instruction to children who cannot seem to tolerate criticism or blame. Teaching adults how to respond to moodiness in families is a lifesaver for these kids.
- Food and Mood: Stabilizing intensely emotional children through food and nutrition, as well as other healthy, lifestyle behaviors is critical. Sometimes they are also suffering from other medical or educational issues that have gone undetected. Let’s give them the skills they need to self-regulate.
Loving & Living: Attention, affection and care connects and motivates these children. Be generous with your heart and smiles and they will follow suit.
